I’ve been noticing so many abstract prints on apparel these days, specially watercolor prints. Turning to a back issue of Uppercase, I fell upon a piece on Luli Sanchez. Brooklyn based textile designer, who for 18 years worked in the fashion industry before handing in her punchcard in exchange for a home studio. Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Anthro… all calling cards that request her work.
Pretty amazing stuff- that and the fact that she can turn watercolor into more than a brown puddle… I tip my hat.
